Is it better to live alone or with someone?

Nowadays more and more people are deciding to live by themselves. Although some people believe that this is better for them, there are those that disagree.

The main advantage of living alone is that there is nobody to tell you what to do, so you have the freedom to live as you choose. Furthermore, by living on your own you will learn to be independent and develop a sense of responsibility. But, most people would find it lonely and miss their family. Not only that, but they might not be very excited about doing things around the house by themselves. Last but not least, this way of living can be quite expensive if you are a student or don't earn a solid salary.

On the other hand, the major advantages of sharing a flat with a roommate are that you have someone to talk to and it's more economical because you can share bills. Nevertheless, living with someone means that you have to be more tolerant and to put up with somebody else's moods or untidiness.

To conclude, there are strong arguments both in favour of and against living alone. However, from my point of view, this style is better for older people, whereas for younger people it is too much of a financial burden.
