Essay

It is an undeniable fact that reality and talent TV shows are extremely popular nowadays. However, the aspects can be both positive and negative, and this essay will focus on two of them - entertainment for the viewers and the impact these programmes have on young adults.

When it comes to entertainment reality shows are just harmless as most of the time we see people fighting and very rude to each other. Also, it isn't the best way of entertainment as we just observe what they do and it is quite boring. On the other hand, talent shows, if there are some really good contestants, can be fun as we get to see some spectacular performances and be amazed.

With regard to the influence these shows can have, there are two sides. Reality shows are a waste of time and they can only cause young people to imitate the behaviour of competitors as they look up to them as role models. On the contrary, talent shows can have a great impact on young people because they can be encouraged to compete themselves. Moreover, young adults can be motivated to learn something new or improve skills they already possess.

Taking all the arguments into account, I strongly believe that TV shows such as reality shows and talent competitions have a huge influence on young people because at the end of the day we are what we read, listen to and watch!
